Nanih Waiya's 4th grade class has decided that most everything can be measured in some way! Currently they are studying customary units of measure; such as inches, feet, yards, miles, ounces, pounds, tons, cups, pints, quarts, and gallons. They have had several projects turned in that showcase a great deal of talent. Today, the students compared the weight of an apple slice to the weight of a pineapple in order to compare ounces and pounds. Below are some of the projects from their class which showcase some very talented students. Way to go 4th Grade!!

Nanih Waiya teachers having fun experiencing their own 'Field Trip' today.

The 5th grade class at Nanih Waiya used Valentine's Day to learn about math. The classes designed a valentine box to receive their valentines in on Friday. The boxes were also used for their lessons on drawing scales, finding perimeter, area, and volume. The students enjoyed creating a project of their own and having something of their own to take home.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Ms. Fairchild's classes recently took part in the Holiday Mail for Heros program. Imagine their surprise when they received responses to their letters this week! They were very excited and honored that the soldiers took time to respond to them. According to Ms. Fairchild it was a wonderful experience and the children were "tickled to death". Way to go 6th grade!
